Featuring local artists from Balan, a community of 20,000 in rural northern Haiti, these songs are about faith, hope, and hardship. Bands and choral groups from all parts of town came out to support their community and share their music.
RESPE: Ayiti, a Tufts student led initiative has been in partnership with the community of Balan for years and helped make this CD possible. A portion of proceeds from CD sales will go towards maintaining a birthing center in Balan that Tufts undergraduates and Balan residents started in the spring of 2010. The Christian Haitian Entrepreneurial Society (CHES) will also played a pivotal role in supporting this birthing center and future PTI endeavors in Haiti.
